Following the launch of the first two editions of the EUROVISION LOCKDOWN on 21 and 22 March 2020 two more editions of the show are planned for this weekend. This follows the sad news of the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 due to the Corona Virus outbreak globally and people have been told to stay indoors to not give the virus a chance of spreading.
The Team of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience thought of easing the tough times with two additional Eurovision radio shows on Saturdays and Sundays. The idea is to entertain the listeners and fans with lots of Eurovision music of the 65 year history of the Eurovision Song Contest plus new music the Eurovision artists have released after their performance in the contest and most of all also the music requests of the listeners and fans.
This week Matthias Breitinger from Germany joined JP via SKYPE to chat about and play Ten songs that from Melodifestivalen - two per decade.
Javier Leal from Montreal, Canada co-hosted a bunch for Swedish Schlagertastic songs from Melodifestivalen und JP dug out an interview he did with the late Bill Martin in 2008 who wrote many songs also Eurovision Winner "Puppet on a string"by Sandy Shaw and Cliff Richard's "Congratulations". Bill Martin passed away on 26 March 2020 aged 81.
Lukas Gornitzka joined JP for a chat via SKYPE from Swedens capital Stockholm to chat about Melodifestivalen, Eurovision Song Contest, National Finals and theupcoming project of the "Unofficial Eurovision Song Contest 2020" of which you find details here.
Then there plenty of room for music requests of the Eurovision Fan community and chats with the fans on air.
Also fans can actively take part in the show to join JP and his team in the studio via a SKYPE phone call live on air to talk about their thoughts and request their favourite song which does not need to be a Eurovision song.
The next show will take place on Saturday, 28 March 2020 live via Run FM in the United Kingdom but available also via the Radio International Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International" where you can find the chatroom.
