Eurovision Spotlight - The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 - National Final Season: Sweden will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 which will be the 68th contest in its history coming once again from the Malmoe Arena, Malmoe, Sweden on 07 & 09 May 2024 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 11 May 2024. Many participating countries to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 are holding their selection shows across Europe and each week on Radio International we take a look at the ongoing selection processes and play some of the highlights from the National Finals and songs that actually will be selected to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmoe. Luxembourg Eurovision Song Contest 2024: Interview with Tali (Luxembourg 2024): Vicky Leandros Press Conference:
After an absence of 31 years Luxembourg returns to the Eurovision Family with Tali who on 27 Jan 2024 won the first Luxembourg Song Contest and with this the ticket to represent Luxembourg at the contest with the song "Fighter". Salman and JP were at the contest in Luxembourg and conducted interviews with the participants. This week listen to the interview with Tali from Luxembourg but as well the Eurovision Winner from 1972 representing Luxembourg - Vicky Leandros was part of the Press Conference of which Radio International will air excerpts from. Vicky Leandross represented Luxembourg twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1967 it was with "L'Amour est blue" coming fourth and then the victory in 1972 with the song "Apres Toi".

Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2024: After three Semi Finals in Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2024 the Grand Final will held on Saturday 03 Feb 2024 with former Norwegian participants Margaret Berger and KEiiNO returning to the competition. This on Radio International Robert Wahlstroem will be introducing the introducing to the listeners the songs in the Running Order as we will watch them come Saturday.
Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot. Nick will be presenting the Eurovision News courtesy of escXtra.com.There will be a lot of the great new releases of Eurovision artists on the show as well as great Eurovision Classics. The Luxembourg Eurovision Song Contest 2024 - Interview with CHAiLD (Luxembourg National Final 2024): For the first time since 1993, Luxembourg returns to the Eurovision Song Contest. The National Final in Luxembourg - The Luxembourg Song Contest 2024 is scheduled to take place on 27 Jan 2024 from the Rockhal in Esch sur Alzette with eight acts battling it out for the ticket to Malmoe in Sweden where the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will be staged on May 07, 09 and 11, following the victory of Loreen from Sweden in 2023 with the song "Tattoo".
Luxembourg has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest thirty-seven times since debuting in its first edition of 1956. The country has won the contest on five occasions: in 1961 with "Nous les amoureux" performed by Jean-Claude Pascal, in 1965 with "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" performed by France Gall, in 1972 with "Après toi" performed by Vicky Leandros, in 1973 with "Tu te reconnaîtras" performed by Anne-Marie David, and finally in 1983 with "Si la vie est cadeau" performed by Corinne Hermès. After a poor result in 1993, Luxembourg was relegated from the 1994 contest in accordance with the new rules implemented at the time, and has since opted to be absent from the event.
Eurovision Winner Vicky Leandros who won for Luxembourg in 1972 with the song "Apres-toi" will be guest during the The Luxembourg Song Contest 2024.
A total of 459 entries were submitted to RTL out of which eight acts will be competing in the The Luxembourg Song Contest 2024. Radio International will be introducing the songs to the listeners on the show this week including a live interview with one of the contestants - CHAiLD who performs the song "Hold on". Let's get to know the first of eight Finalists of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2024 with the Radio International interview team.
Eurovision 2024 - Spain: The Beniorm Fest 2024 (Part 2): Spain decides their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 through the Benidorm Fest 2024. 16 acts are being distributed into two Semi Finals and a Grand Final to decide the winner and Spain's Representative to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. A list of songs and competiion rules can be found at this link from our colleagues at Wikipedia - click here. Last week on the show Javier looked at the first eight songs and this week in the second hour Javier will introduce the remaining eight songs in the Benidorm Fest 2024. Radio International's Salman and Rafia, like last year, will be in Benidorm to conduct interviews with the singers which we will air on Radio International upon their return.
