Interview with Selma (Iceland 1999 and 2005) and Fridrik Ormar of Euroband (Iceland 2008): At the recent edition of Eurovision Club Germany's Annual Convention on 19 November 2022 in Cologne, Germany, five Eurovision acts were special guests performing each a little concert of course, containing their Eurovison entry / entries. Getter Jaani (Estonia 2011), WRS (Romani 2022), Selma (Iceland 1999 and 2005), Fridrik Omar of Euroband (Iceland 2008) and Chiara (Malta 1998, 2005 and 2009) performed at the event.
JP, Marc and Salman were on location and conducted interviews with all the artists which you will hear on the show. This week the next interview from the event is a joint interview with two Eurovision personalities from Iceland. Look forward to meet Selma and Fridrik Omar in this funny interview.
Selma represented Iceland twice. It was in 1999 when the Icelandic entry "All out of luck" was performed by Selma and almost won as she came second in the the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel. Some six years on she returned to the contest with the song "If I had your love".
Fridrik Omar was also part of this very interview and it was a very funny moment for all of the interviewers. Fridrik was the male part in the duo Euroband which represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrad's Beogradska reaching Number 14 with the song "This is my Life". Fridrik also took part at the Iceland National as a solo act in 2019 with the song " "Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað?" coming second to Hatari who then went onto represent Iceland at Eurovision in Tel Aviv.
Listen to this interview this week on Radio International and find out all about Selma and Fridrik Omar from Euroband.
